KDHA Legislative Update

Kentucky House Bill 336 (HB 336)

WE DID IT! KDHA was successful in the legislature this year!

HB 336 was signed into law by Governor Steve Beshear on March 20. The law will go into effect on June 25.

There will no longer be a 3 day notification needed in order to see patients under general supervision. The patient still needs to be notified before their appointment but it could be on the same day [all other rules still apply for general supervision].

Hygienists will be allowed to perform the dental screenings [without a dentist's supervision] on children before entering school to fulfill the KRS 156 requirement which goes into effect for the 2010-2011 school year.

If you are unsure about the laws –please contact the KY Board of Dentistry
